Cooking time: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
- 250g ground beef (80/20) fat ratio
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 4 tbsp Mrs. Balls Sweet Chilli Sauce
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- ½ tsp chili flakes (optional, for heat)
- 2 brioche or sesame seed buns
- 2 slices mature cheddar or smoked cheese
- ½ red onion, thinly sliced
- ½ cup arugula or fresh lettuce
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp butter (for toasting buns)
How To Make Sweet Chilli Holiday Burger
- Start by preparing the Sweet Chilli glaze by combining Mrs. Balls Sweet Chilli Sauce, balsamic vinegar, Dijon mustard, and chili flakes (if using) in a small saucepan over medium heat.
- Stir the ingredients together and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly, then remove from heat.
- For the patties, mix the ground beef with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl, then form the mixture into two equal-sized patties, making them slightly larger than the buns as they will shrink while cooking.
- Heat a pan or grill over medium-high heat and cook the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked through.
- In the last minute of cooking, brush both sides of the patties generously with the Sweet Chilli glaze, then top with cheese and cover the pan for a minute to melt the cheese.
- While the patties cook, butter the cut sides of the buns and toast them in a pan until golden brown.
- To assemble the burger, spread mayonnaise on the toasted buns, layer arugula on the bottom bun, then add the Sweet Chilli-glazed patty with melted cheese.
- Top with thinly sliced red onion and a little extra Sweet Chilli Sauce, if desired, then close the burger with the top bun and serve.
Absolutely delicious 😋
