Cook Time: 15–20 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 500g chicken breast or thigh fillets, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 2 tbsp oil (for frying)
  • 2 tbsp golden syrup
  • 2 tbsp Mrs. Ball’s chutney
  • 1 tbsp jalapeño chutney (adjust to your spice preference)
  • 1–2 tbsp sesame seeds (toasted if possible)

Optional garnish:

  • chopped spring onion or coriander

How To Make Sweet n Spicy Sesame Chicken

  1. Start by seasoning the chicken cubes with salt, pepper, and garlic powder if you’re using it.
  2. Heat the oil in a pan over medium-high heat, then add the chicken and fry until golden brown and fully cooked through, which should take about 6 to 8 minutes.
  3. Once the chicken is cooked, lower the heat to medium and stir in the golden syrup, Mrs. Ball’s chutney, and jalapeño chutney.
  4. Let the sauce bubble gently for 2 to 3 minutes, allowing it to thicken and coat the chicken with a sticky, flavourful glaze.
  5. Add the sesame seeds, stir to combine, and cook for another minute to bring everything together.
  6. Serve hot, optionally garnished with chopped spring onion or fresh coriander, and enjoy over rice or noodles.
