6 Chocolate Hot Cross Buns 2 eggs ½ cup yogurt 1 cup chai latte, warm 4 tbsp butter 1 cup brown sugar 2/3 cup cream
Method:
Preheat the oven to 170C and prepare a baking sheet. Cut the tops off the hot cross buns and press down the centers to create bread bowls. In a large bowl whisk together the eggs and yogurt. Slowly add in the chai latte. Pour the egg mixture into the hot cross buns and bake in the oven for 20 minutes until set. Remove from oven For the caramel, melt the butter in a saucepan and add the brown sugar and cook for 3 minutes. Add the cream and bring to bubble for 2 minutes. Pour the caramel over the baked buns and serve.
Chefs Tip: When adding your chai latte, make sure to add it in slow stream or gradually to prevent the egg mixture.
