Crispy Cheeseburger Pie
Celebrate International Burger Day with this blend of comfort foods!

Time: 40 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 4 beef burger patties
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 8 slices gouda cheese slices
- 1 cup burger mayo
- 2 gherkins, sliced
- 1 cup caramelised onions
- 1 egg, beaten
- Sesame seeds (Optional)
- To serve:
- Tomato sauce or mayo
- Skinny fries
How To Make Crispy Cheeseburger Pie
- Preheat the oven to 200C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Heat a large skillet, drizzle the olive oil and saute the burger patties on high heat until browned on each side. Do not cook all the way through.
- Layer the puff pastry sheet on your work surface and cut into 4 equal pieces.
- Place one slice of cheese one puff pastry square, followed by a burger patty, spoon over a generous amount of mayo.
- Then layer a few slices of gherkins, followed by another slice of cheese and topped with caramelised onions.
- Fold the edges of puff pastry over to cover the filling and pinch to seal.
- Place the pie on the baking sheet sealed side down. Repeat the process with the remaining ingredients.
- Brush egg wash over the pies and sprinkle sesame seeds.
- Bake in the oven for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve with a side of fries.
