How To Make Masala Steak Sandwich
- For the masala steak, heat the oil over a medium heat before adding the onions and seasoning with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
- Once lightly browned add the garlic and cook for a minute before adding your spices.
- Toast your spices for a minute before adding your tomato paste and sugar.
- Cook for 3 minutes before adding a cup of water and bring to a simmer.
- Add your pounded steaks to the curry sauce and season lightly with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
- Cover with a lid, slightly a jar letting the sauce reduce as the steak cooks until tender, about 30 -40 minutes adding a little water as needed.
- When the steak almost pulls apart it will be done.
- For the chips. Place your fried chips on absorbent kitchen paper.
- Combine the garlic powder, paprika and cayenne pepper before sprinkling over the still hot chips.
- Make a cheese sandwich by placing cheese between 2 slices of cheese and toasting in the butter and oil until the cheese melts.
- To assemble place a toasted cheese sandwich on a chopping board and add some lettuce and tomato, add with your tender steak and spoon over some of the sauce.
- Top with some of the chips and more of the sauce before placing another toasted sandwich on top.
- Cut diagonally before wrapping in baking paper and letting the sandwich rest for 5 minutes before serving.
