Rich Butter Bread with ClemenGold® Jam

With Golden Cloud by your side, you don’t have to be intimidated to bake! Make this rich butter bread with ease and serve it with a quick ClemenGold® jam.

  • For the bread:
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ tbsp instant yeast
  • 3 ½ cups flour
  • 3 eggs + 1 for egg wash
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • ½ cup salted butter, cubed
  • For the jam:
  • 3 ClemenGold® mandarins
  • ½ cup sugar

How To Make Rich Butter Bread

  1. In a measuring jug, combine the milk, half the sugar and yeast.
  2. Stir and set aside until the mixture is frothy at the surface.
  3. Then whisk in the eggs and vanilla essence.
  4. In the Kitchen Aid stand mixer, add the flour, sugar and the milk mixture.
  5. Using the hook attachment, beat until the dough comes together.
  6. Gradually add in the butter, one block at a time, and continue to knead for about 10 minutes or until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  7. Transfer the dough into a greased bowl and allow the dough to proof for an hour or until doubled in size.
  8. Divide the dough into 3 equal balls and roll each into long strands.
  9. Braid the dough and pinch at the end to seal
  10. Prepare a loaf tin and, place the dough in the tin and allow to proof again for an hour.
  11. Preheat the oven to 180C
  12. Brush the dough with egg wash and bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown.
  13. In the meantime, cut off the skin and the pith of the ClemenGold® mandarins.
  14. Cut the segments and scoop out into a saucepan.
  15. Add the sugar and 2 cups of water to the saucepan.
  16. Cook on low heat until the water has reduced and the mixture has thickened.
  17. Serve the bread with the quick ClemenGold® jam
