Rich Butter Bread with ClemenGold® Jam
With Golden Cloud by your side, you don’t have to be intimidated to bake! Make this rich butter bread with ease and serve it with a quick ClemenGold® jam.

Serves: 8-12
Ingredients:
- For the bread:
- ¾ cup warm milk
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ tbsp instant yeast
- 3 ½ cups flour
- 3 eggs + 1 for egg wash
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- ½ cup salted butter, cubed
- For the jam:
- 3 ClemenGold® mandarins
- ½ cup sugar
How To Make Rich Butter Bread
- In a measuring jug, combine the milk, half the sugar and yeast.
- Stir and set aside until the mixture is frothy at the surface.
- Then whisk in the eggs and vanilla essence.
- In the Kitchen Aid stand mixer, add the flour, sugar and the milk mixture.
- Using the hook attachment, beat until the dough comes together.
- Gradually add in the butter, one block at a time, and continue to knead for about 10 minutes or until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Transfer the dough into a greased bowl and allow the dough to proof for an hour or until doubled in size.
- Divide the dough into 3 equal balls and roll each into long strands.
- Braid the dough and pinch at the end to seal
- Prepare a loaf tin and, place the dough in the tin and allow to proof again for an hour.
- Preheat the oven to 180C
- Brush the dough with egg wash and bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown.
- In the meantime, cut off the skin and the pith of the ClemenGold® mandarins.
- Cut the segments and scoop out into a saucepan.
- Add the sugar and 2 cups of water to the saucepan.
- Cook on low heat until the water has reduced and the mixture has thickened.
- Serve the bread with the quick ClemenGold® jam
