Steak Caesar Sandwich

A Steak Caesar Sandwich takes everything you love about a classic Caesar salad and transforms it into a hearty handheld meal.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • 300g Sirloin steak
  • 2 rolls, sliced and toasted
  • 1 head cos or romaine lettuce
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • Dressing
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan, grated
  • 2-3 Tbsp lemon juice
  • Zest of one lemon
  • 1 Tablespoon mustard
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 anchovy fillet(finely minced)
  • 1 garlic clove, grated
  • Salt and pepper to taste

How To Make Steak Caesar Sandwich

  1. Season your steak with salt and pepper. Add 2 tbsp of oil to a hot pan and fry the steak according to your preference. Allow the steak rest before slicing. Cut and lightly toast your rolls in the same pan.
  2. For the Caesar dressing, add the mayonnaise, parmesan, lemon juice, lemon zest, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, salt and pepper to a bowl. Mix well.
  3.  Spread a layer of the Caesar dressing on the bottom half of each roll, followed by sliced tomatoes. Add a layer of the sliced steak. Mix the chopped lettuce with the remaining Caesar dressing and top the steak generously with the dressed lettuce and serve.
