A beautiful, fresh way of serving tuna.

Recipe by Carishma Basday

Ingredients:

  • 100g Fresh tuna
  • ½ Cup White and black sesame seeds
  • ½ Cup soy sauce
  • ¼ Cup coconut aminos
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 6-8 garlic cloves, finely sliced
  • ¼ Cup up sesame oil – might need a bit more
  • 2 red chilies, chopped
  • Small bunch coriander, chopped

How To Make Tuna Tataki

  1. Coat the tuna in the sesame seeds and in a high heated pan, sear off the tuna in some sesame oil or coconut oil on each side.
  2. Once each edge has been seared off, place the tuna onto a plate and into the fridge for at least 2 hours, to cool down.
  3. To make the tataki sauce, add the remaining ingredients together, except for the garlic.
  4. In a separate pan, heat up some sesame oil and fry off the garlic until golden. Then add to the sauce.
  5. Thinly slice the tuna and place onto a serving plate and pour the sauce over the tuna before serving. Enjoy!
